Places To Watch For FREE
Downtown Charleston: SC250 Waterfront Independence Day Celebration
- Time: 4:00pm – 10:00pm (Fireworks at 9:40pm)
- Location: Waterfront Park
- Parking & Shuttles: No direct event shuttles. Drivers should utilize the Prioleau Street Garage or Charleston County Parking Garage. Metered street parking is free on holidays but highly competitive
North Charleston: 4th of July Festival
- Time: 5:00pm – 10:00pm (Fireworks at 9:00pm)
- Location: Riverfront Park
- Parking & Shuttles: All event parkings is off-site with free, continuous shuttle service running from 4:30pm until 10:30pm. Shuttles pick up from designated lots located on the former Navy Base (primarily around McMillan Ave)
Summerville: Fireworks & Freedom Festival
- Time: 5:30pm – 9:30pm (Fireworks at 9:00pm)
- Location: Gahagan Park (184 W Boundary St)
- Parking & Shuttles: On-site parking is strictly limited. A free continuous shuttle bus operates from 5:30pm to 11:00pm out of the First Citizens Bank / Town Hall parking lot (200 S Main St). Attendees are encouraged to use downtown parking garages and walk to the shuttle stop
Goose Creek: Fabulous 4th in the Creek
- Time: 6:30pm – 9:30pm (Fireworks at 9:00pm)
- Location: The Daning Amphitheater at the Municipal Comples (519A N Goose Creek Blvd)
- Parking & Shuttles: Due to ongoing assembly construction, on-site parking is limited. A free complimentary shuttle runs every 10 minutes from 5:00pm to 10:30pm from Westview Elementary School. Limited on-site parking is available at the Recreation Complex fields, with golf cart transports available to the event area before dark
Moncks Corner: Independence Day Celebration
- Time: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
- Location: Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Complex Event Field (418 E Main St)
- Parking & Shuttles: Free parking is available directly on-site at the recreation complex fields. No external shuttle service is provided, so early arrival is recommended to secure a spot before the fireworks
Isle of Palms
- Time: Dusk
- Location: Front Beach
- Parking & Shuttles: No shuttle infrastructure exists. Visitors much use paying public beach municipal lots or legal street parking. Beach parking spaces close near the fireworks setup zome by 6:30pm
Folly Beach
- Time: Dusk
- Location: West End/Pier
- Parking & Shuttles: No shuttle infrastructure exists. Visitors must use paying public beach municipal lots or legal street parking
Places with Admission or Even Cost
Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens | Mount Pleasant
- If you’re looking for a classic Lowcountry Fourth of July celebration, Boone Hall offers a memorable evening filled with Southern charm. Families can enjoy live music, local food vendors, and plenty of open space to spread out before the fireworks light up the sky over the historic grounds. Admission is required for this event and includes access to the entertainment and fireworks. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance and check the event details before you go.
James Island County Park
- For many Charleston families, celebrating at James Island County Park has become an annual tradition. The park comes alive with activities, entertainment, and one of the area’s most anticipated fireworks displays over the Stono River. A vehicle admission fee is required for this special event, and arriving early is highly recommended if you want a great viewing spot and time to enjoy everything the festival has to offer.
Charleston RiverDogs at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park
- Baseball, hot dogs, and fireworks—it doesn’t get much more American than that. Catch a Charleston RiverDogs game and stay after the final out for a spectacular fireworks show. It’s a fun way to celebrate with family or friends while enjoying one of Charleston’s favorite summertime traditions. Tickets are required, with pricing based on seating availability.
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum
- For a celebration that combines history with breathtaking waterfront views, Patriots Point is hard to beat. The museum occasionally offers special event tickets that provide access to the grounds, live entertainment, and premium fireworks viewing. While general waterfront viewing around Patriots Point is free, purchasing admission gives you the opportunity to explore the USS Yorktown and experience one of Charleston’s most iconic historic landmarks before the evening’s festivities begin.
