A Picture-Perfect Park on Daniel Island
The Island’s Gathering Place
At 22 acres, it’s the island’s largest park and features an 11-acre pond dotted with idyllic statues of children playing on the bank, marsh grasses, and diverse landscaping. Smythe offers walking paths, a kayak dock, and a history trail. The Daniel Island community hosts several events at the park, like the annual Independence Day celebration with a golf cart parade and live music, a movie under the stars, and the neighborhood pumpkin display.
Big Adventures for Little Pirates
Right behind Smythe, children will delight in playing at the Pirate Park, where they can board a massive wooden ship and safely walk the plank! Or they can climb to the top of a lighthouse, and then slide down. Let their imaginations run wild as they channel their inner Blackbeard, while parents can take a break on a bench under the shade of a massive oak.
Easy Access, Open Daily
Smythe Park is open everyday, from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. Street parking is plentiful on Smythe and Pierce Streets, around the park.
